Serum-Free RocketFuel

Introduction

CSC RocketFuel Supplement.  The vial activates 250mL CSC Serum-Free Medium

RocketFuel is the broad-spectrum mitogen growth supplement designed for use with serum-free medium.  RocketFuel is included in various CSC Serum-Free medium.

RocketFuel contains CSC bovine growth factor and recombinant human epithedermal growth factor and has been designed to provide growth supplement in the serum-free media environment. RocketFuel is included in various CSC medium Kits (please see Serum-Free Medium Kits for more information) and is also available individually as a stand-alone supplement to improve performance of your serum-free medium.

Available Formats

This product is included (2-5mL vials) in various CSC Serum-Free Medium Kits and in "The System".  Each vial supplements 250mL media.

 Handling and Storage

RocketFuel Supplement is supplied sealed in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. Plasma lipoprotein in RocketFuel is subject to oxidation upon contact with room air: the expiration date refers to unopened refrigerated storage of RocketFuel, the metric being inactivation of growth factor and oxidation of lipoprotein. Cellular binding of oxidized lipoproteins may be toxic to your cells. CSC Serum-Free Medium can be frozen but RocketFuel supplements cannot. The apoprotein is separated from lipoprotein by freezing, making binding to the receptor impossible, and may result in toxicity. 

Additional Information

The Cell System specified in the ACBRI and CSC Cell Certificates consists of Certified cells, CSC complete media (serum-containing or serum-free, Defined or Non-Defined) Attachment Factor, Passage Reagent Group and Cell Freezing medium. CSC kits are ready to activate and use upon delivery. CSC Serum-Free Medium Kit Formulated Without Growth Factors (SF-4Z0-500-S) differs from complete medium only by the absence of growth factors and can be made complete by the addition of RocketFuel (4ZR-500).
